Course Aim
Children are the center of MYC … their learning styles and needs are met through a multi-sensory approach. The understanding of music will expand into positive problem-solving skills, areas of self-expression, the growth of memory skills and excellent self-confidence and self-esteem. With these natural outcomes children can easily take on the skills required to read other languages and master other tasks.
In MYC, children meet in small groups, in their own age category, once a week for an hour, accompanied by an adult (parent, grandparent or caregiver) who participates in the program.
Curriculum
The Sunrise curriculum is an amazing journey to take with your child. The Sunrise Mascots Buddy Croak, Buzz and Mellow Yellow guide little ones as they learn to keep the beat, play many different rhythm instruments, sing, dance, and move! Children also learn many skills to assist them in early literacy, such as tracking left to right, tracking rhythms which are visually appealing for their age level. Melodic patterns are also covered, along with basic music vocabulary. All of our activities are hands-on, addressing the unique needs of the tactile, aural and visual learner. You will be delighted to learn more about your child as you enjoy Sunrise together! The age-appropriate workbook and stimulating CD will make music a family affair throughout the week.
Sunrise children perform in our recitals and special events at various times throughout the year.
